Shamrock Living

In Shamrock, you'll discover living at its best with the finest in public schools, beautiful churches, public library and modern medical facilities.Recreational activities abound with shaded city parks, swimming pools, golf course, lighted tennis courts, gymnasiums,

softball and baseball fields as well as rodeo facilities.  Shamrock is a community of friendly people working together for progress and development, but never too busy for a friendly word or a helping hand.



Agriculture
Video-conferencing capabilities allow Shamrock School High Students the opportunity of acquiring dual high school and college credits for several classes.

Agriculture is an important part of the local economy.  Family farms produce predominantly wheat, cotton, hay, and peanuts.  Thousands of cattle roam the grasslands in the area.  A local livestock auction provides a much needed service for area cattlemen. 


School System

A good school system is the cornerstone for any community.  Shamrock ISD provides a solid education as well as numerous extracurricular activities.

 

University Interscholastic League (UIL) Events, vocational classes, football, basketball, track, cross country, golf, and baseball are just some of the options for Shamrock students.
Shamrock High School

 

Shamrock ISD Memorial A Student memorial was recently constructed at the entrance of the building.  The granite memorial was designed to honor the memory of Shamrock students that have passed away.

All contributions go to the Shamrock Community Education Foundation (SCEF), a 503b organization founded to provide educational scholarships to area students pursuing a higher education.  Call 806 256-3492 or email for more information about our school district or the student memorial.


Pioneer West Museum

The Pioneer West Museum is housed in the old "Reynolds Hotel".  The Hotel was built in 1925 and finished in 1928 by an attorney, Marion Reynolds.  It was open approximately 50 years and housed many a weary traveler. 

The museum has approximately 25 rooms & filled with interesting items from the area's past.  Dedicated volunteers work on the museum and grounds and keep it looking beautiful all year round.  The museum is located at 204 North Madden and is open from 10:00 - 3:00 daily, closing for lunch.  To schedule a field trip of appointment after hours, call:  806 256-3941



Hunting

Hunters from all over the world find that our area provides excellent hunting opportunities.  Deer, turkey, quail, and dove are plentiful in the Shamrock area.  Hunting licenses are available locally.

 


Shamrock Country Club

Shamrock Country Club offers a 9 hole golf course with chipping and putting greens, driving range, water on the fairways, and a private club for members.  A free round of golf is provided for area travelers with an overnight stay at any of our motels or Inns.
